The US Virgin Islands Commission on the Status of Women is committed to the principle that women should have the opportunity and freedom to fulfill the roles they choose to pursue without discriminatory barriers.
The US Virgin Islands Commission on the Status of Women seeks to increase public awareness and understanding of societal issues affecting all facets of women's lives -- within the family, workplace, educational setting and other private and public institutions.

Greetings:
The Virgin Islands Commission on the Status of Women (VICSW) was established by law under Title 3, Section 359 of the Virgin Islands Code. Legislation was passed on March 28,1966, making the Commission on the Status of Women a permanent statutory body of the United States Virgin Islands Government.

VICSW was established to work in improving the status of the Territory's women in the areas of health, housing, justice, pay equity, family relations, legislation, employment and political status.

The Chairperson of the Commission, Ms. Sonia Boyce stated, “The Hall of Fame was established to recognize the significant achievements of Virgin Islands women.
